Pete’s Field @ Cole Farm 2018 season
Our 2018 Kent camping season is over: the bell tents are down, the campers are gone and the cows have returned to graze at Pete’s Field. Strictly speaking, of course, it’s Kev the Farmer’s field but for August 2018 he was kind enough to share it with us. We christened the six-acre field at the heart of Cole Farm in Paddlesworth as Pete’s Field campsite. During our short season we welcomed more than 120 families, camping couples and groups of friends to share the beautiful rural views over the Kent Downs, the stunning sunsets and the peace and quiet of this lovely spot.
Fantastic feedback
The mix of a fantastic location, and back-to-basics facilities with an eco-friendly edge proved popular with our campers and glampers. The bucket showers, handmade by Pete, were a particular hit! You can check out some of the great reviews we received on the Cool Camping website where Pete’s Field is listed. We always knew that our little corner of Kent punched above its weight in terms of attractions but it was great to see people getting out and about enjoying its gems. Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, the White Cliffs of Dover, the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway, the Kent Battle of Britain Museum and the beach at Folkestone saw plenty of visitors from our campsite.
Kent camping in 2019?
After such a fantastic first season we are hoping to pop up for some more Kent camping at Cole Farm in 2019 with a similar set-up. Work is underway to organise a second pop-up and it is likely that we will open again in August – exact dates have yet to be decided upon. We are also always on the look-out for other locations to pop-up in and are particularly interested in places with water and toilet facilities already in place.
