About us

Hi there – you found us!Amy and PEte at Pete's Field campsite in Kent

We are Amy and Pete. We own and run Pete’s Field Camping which has been popping up at Cole Farm, in the tiny Kentish village of Paddlesworth, every summer since 2018. It’s a lovely spot with beautiful sunsets and a simple way of life that keeps us coming back. We love it here and a growing band of loyal Pete’s Field campers seem to like it too.

Although 2018 was the first time that we operated our own campsite it was far from the start of our camping adventures together. We’ve been together for more than 10 years and have camped in lots of places during that time – both in this country and further afield. We also spent two years as live-in wardens at Eco Camp UK’s Wild Boar Wood (now Pegs and Pitches) campsite, a lovely bell-tent only site in Sussex. All this camping and glamping experience means we know what we like from a campsite and we love sharing it with those who come to our site. You can read some of our campers’ reviews on our listing on Cool Camping.

For us, camping is all about being outside, in nature; slowing down and noticing the birds, the bees, the leaves, the trees, the sun, the moon and the stars. We like walking, exploring new places, eating well and supporting local businesses. We love good value and we really hate waste. Amy likes meeting people and talking, making things and writing. Pete likes watching wildlife, taking photos, playing the guitar – and fixing things (which is pretty handy when you run your own campsite).

If you like the sound of what we do, why not join our mailing list to stay in the loop?
